The other Horan hoping to be a Million Dollar Baby

- By Niamh Walsh

FOR most three-year-old boys the extent of their ambition mightn’t extend beyond the creation of a wobbly sand castle or the decoration of a wall with a bright-coloured crayon.

If you’re uncle is a famous pop star, though, your childhood may take a different path.

Meet Theo Horan, the proud posse-sor of almost 800,000 Twitter followers who just happens to be a nephew of Niall Horan, the One Direction star, no mean collector of Twitter followers himself.

Theo’s parents, Greg and Denise, saw the opporunity in this famous link and since he was a toddler have been urging Theo to become quite the ‘influencer’.

They launched his ‘career’ by having him open a Lidl store in Mullingar and he has been on the books of top agent Andrea Roche as an ‘influencer’ since he was a toddler.

Sources say Niall may not be ‘altogether happy’ with this use of his fame because his photos and private family pictures are being used on public profiles over which he has no control.

And it seems that the singer may have distanced himself from little Theo’s burgeoning career as it’s been more than a year since he has appeared in a recent picture with his nephew.

According to sources, Greg is considering moving his family to the UK where he is keen to establish himself and capitalise on his famous surname even further.

His Twitter page reveals that he will be representing brands in the coming months.

He has already attended meetings in Manchester and was seen checking out a Ferrari and being entertained as a VIP guest at a private club.

A perusal of Theo Horan’s Twitter page, which has 768,000 followers, show that Uncle Niall has not made a recent appearance in more than a year. Similarly, on Niall’s Instagram account, the last picture was in July 2016 when he posted a flashback snap to wish his nephew a happy birthday.

And on Greg Horan and his wife Denise’s social media pages there have been no new family photographs with the superstar in over 12 months.

The absence of additional pictures of the doting uncle is particulary strange given it was Niall who initially – and quite unintentionally – launched Theo’s baby career in March 2014, when One Direction fans began flocking to his Twitter page after his parents joined him up. Every time Niall’s name is mentioned, fans post responses.

Greg and Denise had marked their son’s first birthday, by creating a 20ct gold commemorative coin and selling it to fans of the One Direction star for €22. They name-checked Niall on Theo’s website which caused a frenzy and people flocked to follow the littlest Horan.

At the time they told their Twitter followers: ‘You love us all as a family and words can’t explain how that makes us feel. You love Theo and uncle Niall so much and we know that Theo will grow up loving you back.

‘Denise and Greg are so proud of you all and the genuine messages you send us and our little treasure Theo.

Since that day in July 2013 when Niall put the first picture of himself and Theo on Twitter, we have been overwhelmed with kindness.

‘It has changed our lives and it would be unfair of us if we neglected you, the fans.’
