Ros Na Rún is head over heels for Kate
THE country’s latest soap star has an extraordinarily diverse CV.
Actress Kate Finegan will be playing temptress Janice, a new arrival who attracts the interest of every man in Ros Na Rún.
Newcomer Kate Finegan, who plays her, is an aerialist – an acrobat who performs in the air using silk, ropes and hoops.
She is also a contortionist, a choreographer, a flexibility teacher and a former burlesque queen.
In the TG4 soap, the 26-year-old, from Oldcastle, Co. Meath, plays a businesswoman who arrives to open a pharmacy.
Janice made a brief appearance on the show last year.
She was on her way to perform her aerial tricks at Electric Picnic when she got the call. ‘It was really short notice but I was delighted,’ said the Irish speaker who studied drama and Modern Irish at Trinity.
Kate took up her aerialism after she finished college.
‘I was wondering what to do and the aerial scene in Dublin was growing so I took a few classes.’
At the same time she came runner up in a Miss Burlesque Ireland competition.
