Tipp not hiding in the long grass
WHEN Donegal brought the Kerry footballers all the way to Letterkenny for the opening round of the National League, the conspiracy theorists were out in force to suggest it was a means of stacking the odds in favour of a home win – until Donegal’s record at the ground was pointed out. More of the same last Sunday when the length of the grass at Walsh Park was up for debate, the visitors wondering if it was a way of trying to ensure Tipp would have trouble moving the ball quickly. It wasn’t long enough, as it turns out. Arguably the most imposing aspect of Michael Ryan’s side is the physicality of a team once criticised for having a soft centre. Not any more.
