Expect Cats to roar back

TWO matches into February and already Brian Cody’s legacy is being talked about as if it might somehow be tainted by staying on too long. Two League defeats from two have left the Cats boss open to undue and unfair criticism.

But there’s a simple test as to whether he is still the right man for the job. In the event that he decided to step down, ask yourself how many opposition players and managers would be buoyed by the news? Pretty much the entire chasing pack.

The current level of experimentation by Cody also seems to have been overlooked.

Kilkenny will be a different proposition when Cody reverts to type.
