RTÉ casting out their line
RTÉ will be the only ‘free to air’ television broadcaster of the Championship for the next five years and they are currently asking for ‘innovative and engaging programming ideas’ to complement their coverage of live games for the coming season. There are currently slots available for a midweek or weekend magazine show during the Championship, a behind-the-scenes miniseries or GAA related documentaries which could air in the close season. Given the paranoia that is rife among county squads, access may be a problem for the latter two types of programming but RTÉ are seeking a steer towards such projects. A strict deadline of March 12 has been imposed, so get brainstorming people.
