‘YOU’LL FIND NO MASS GRAVE’

-

REPORTS of a mass grave at Tuam were dismissed or downplayed by a number of publications and commentators when the Irish Mail on Sunday first broke the story.

The most high-profile sceptic was Terry Prone, right, head of PR agency The Communications Clinic, which handles the media for the Bon Secours Sisters. She completely rejected suggetions that hundreds of babies had been buried at the Tuam site. She has been criticised by families of the Tuam babies for her comments in an email to a French film-maker. She

wrote: ‘If you come here you’ll find no mass grave, no evidence that children were ever so buried and a local police force casting their eyes to heaven and saying, “Yeah a few bones were found – but this was an area where famine victims were buried. So?”.’

Ms Prone failed to return several calls, texts and emails from the MoS this weekend.
