Andy has a plan to make the Murrays a mint...

-

MOVE over Brand Beckham and make way for the Minted Murrays. Tennis player Andy Murray, 29, is preparing to launch a sports agency that will rival Simon Fuller’s hugely successful XIX, which represents the Beckhams, and until recently had Murray himself, one-time Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins and Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton on its books.

Murray and business partner Matthew Gentry aim to scoop up big names on the sports scene as well as discover some of the stars of the future.

A source close to the Wimbledon champion said: ‘Andy plans to scout for and mentor upand-coming golf, tennis and football stars.

‘He wants to make sure that he has a good post-retirement plan so he can keep providing for Kim and baby Sophia.

‘He will become a tycoon and be the new Simon Fuller one day.’

Andy’s Kim gave birth to the couple’s daughter Sophia in February last year.

He has since said that fatherhood gave him ‘perspective… I had to think a little bit more about what’s important’.
