CRISIS : PERSONS UNKNOWN SOUGHT OVER MANSLAUGHTER OF A LOST GOVERNMENT

What may happen: The crisis that brings this government down is likely to be the one no-one sees coming.

It might be a variant of water or our ungovernable gardaí or Tusla or the HSE, which hasn’t been mired in a scandal for an entire month. Incompetence or stupidity, given our track record to date, shouldn’t matter so much, but, some personal scandal or a sudden steep fall in the poll ratings of Shane Ross in Dublin-Rathdown could create a crisis that can’t be controlled.

Possible outcome: It will depend on the polls. If it’s in FF’s interest to run to the country, be assured they will find a way to cut this government’s throat. Or exhaustion combined with the addled nature of ‘new politics’ may be the Coalition’s downfall. Our money is on a health crisis forcing FF to remove Confidence And Supply as they cry like a Nile crocodile.
