GAA needs united front

THE GAA’s Annual Congress was tantalising and dispiriting, all at once, last weekend.

On one hand, football fans were offered the exciting prospect of watching the greatest teams in the country battling it out in Champions League-type groups at the tail end of the summer of 2018. On the other, fans saw the GAA and the Gaelic Players’ Association confront one another, once more, and demonstrate little tolerance for the opposing body.

Is it not high time everyone in the GAA, players and officials, grew up and talked?

It must be agreed not to appear in public like two groups coming faceto face for the very first time.
