Mutko’s facing sanctions

VITALY MUTKO, the man who led Russia’s successful bid to stage the 2018 World Cup, faces further potential sanction by FIFA, writes NICK HARRIS.

Mutko is already banned from FIFA’s council and, as the Mail on Sunday first revealed in December, he is subject to an investigation for a breach of FIFA’s ethics code for his alleged involvement in Russia’s state-sponsored doping.

Reports commissioned by the world antidoping agency, cite Mutko numerous times as having direct involvement in doping and cover-ups.
