Boards ignore the lure of Six Nations

-

IT is 11 years since the National League final between Galway and Kerry threw in to a near-deserted Gaelic Grounds as fans caught the tail-end of the Heineken Cup semifinal between Munster and Leinster, but the experience clearly made a lasting impression with someone in Croke Park as last week Kerry, Donegal, Down and Carlow county boards – all of whom host Saturday evening games next week – were told they can put back throw-in time to 7.30pm with Ireland’s Six Nations game with England at 5pm. Even more interesting is that only Carlow took Croker up on the offer.
