Man’s body found

MOUNTAIN rescue teams from Galway and Mayo were working with locals and gardaí in Connemara last night to recover a body that was discovered during a search for a hillwalker in the Maumturk Mountains.

The search was launched in Leenane on St Patrick’s Day after the hillwalker in his 50s, who was on his own, went missing.

The experienced hiker, thought to be from Dublin, last contacted his family at 4.30pm on Friday.
