SATURDAY MARCH 18

There were 24 scheduled programmes, six of which were news broadcasts.

Of the 18 remaining, 13 were repeats, two were films, two were Australian imports. Just one was being aired for the first time, the Ray D’Arcy Show. Just over 55% of the shows were repeats.

SUNDAY MARCH 19

There were 30 scheduled programmes, of which seven were news and one was a religious service. Of the 21 others, 19 were repeats. Just two, Fair City and Dancing With The Stars, were on for the first time, and 64% of the shows were repeats. They included prime-time programmes, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Francis Brennan’s Grand Indian Tour and Would You Believe?

MONDAY MARCH 20

There were 30 scheduled programmes, of which six were news and 15 were repeats. Of the remaining nine, three were produced by RTÉ, Today With Maura And Dáithí, Claire Byrne Live, pictured below, and St Patrick’s Festival Highlights, with film from the celebratio­ns the week before. Some 50% of shows were repeats.

TUESDAY MARCH 21

There were 34 scheduled programmes, of which nine were news programmes. There were 13 repeats. Outside of news, there were three programmes produced by or for RTÉ for a first airing, Fair City, Daniel And Majella’s B&B Road Trip, main picture, and The Works Presents. Some 39% were repeats. Shows during the popular 6pm to 11pm time slot included two episodes of EastEnders and one of Fair City, before the news. Imported series Blue Bloods was shown at 10.35pm.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 22

There were 33 shows in all, of which eight were news programmes. Of the remaining 25, there were 17 repeats and six soaps, just one of which was produced by RTÉ. That was Fair City. And 52% of all viewing were repeats. The Wednesday schedule did include the new panel, Brendan O’Connor’s Cutting Edge.

THURSDAY MARCH 23

There were 34 scheduled programmes, of which nine were news. Of the remaining 25, as many as 12 were repeats and seven were soap. This is the only evening of the week, so far, that there were no repeats in the evening schedule that included Home Of The Year. Some 36% were repeats.

FRIDAY MARCH 24

There were 30 scheduled programmes, of which seven were news, 17 were repeats and seven were soap. Some 57% were repeats. The evening schedule included Can’t Stop Dancing, which went behind the scenes with the popular Sunday night show, Dancing With The Stars, and the ever-popular Late Late Show.
