COST OF DIESEL CONTINUES TO RISE

-

The cost of a litre of petrol or diesel has reached its highest level in 18 months according to AA Ireland. A litre of petrol now costs 137.7c – up 1c on February prices. Diesel costs 127.1c per litre on average across the country, a month-on-month increase of 0.7c.

Fuel costs have hit their highest level since August 2015. This is despite the price of a barrel of oil falling by $5 in recent weeks.

Conor Faughnan of AA Ireland explains, ‘63% of the price of petrol is tax, and 58% for diesel.’
