Depeche Mode Much was made of American white supremacist Richard Spencer calling Depeche Mode ‘the official band of the alt-right’. Rubbish, of course. That the band ask ‘Where’s the revolution?’ and warn of the return of lynchings on the square within the first three tracks of Spirit, suggests that Depeche Mode are swinging to the left as they have always done. If their American fans are really paying attention to what the band are saying they’ll vote for Bernie Sanders – or whoever he anoints – the next time out.
