Referees deserve to be heard
IN most other walks of life, transparency and good communication are standard practice.
It’s time for the GAA to take the same approach when it comes to referees because they occupy a lonely place as it is.
Meath official David Gough has brought up the idea of referees being given a platform to explain key decisions after a game, even through an official third party.
I would see nothing wrong with a referee having his say. Or Croke Park giving the background to important decisions that are made.
The intense scrutiny is unbelievable. We all say it’s not good enough when a mistake is made. I can’t see anything wrong with the referee giving his side of the story.
