Let anger go and qualify

-

MORE than anyone else, Seamus Coleman led the way when every man in Martin O’Neill’s squad stepped up in the last 12 months and presented greater ambition on the field.

But now everyone else in the Irish dressing-room must play for their captain and honour him by ensuring qualification for the World Cup finals.

Coleman will be a monumental loss. And the sickness in the stomachs of Irish supporters and the anger that followed, after he was victim to such an ugly tackle against Wales on Friday evening, will have to be something that is left aside as the Irish team play for Coleman in the second half of their qualifying campaign.

We all wish him a strong and healthy recovery. He has a long road ahead, but the Donegal man, a proud son of Kilybegs, is made of the sternest and most determined stuff.

We look forward to him being back amongst us soon as a true leader. Hopefully with a World Cup to come.
