ALAN BROGAN (Dublin, 2011)

Few have made a more painful defence of an All-Ireland title than Brogan in 2012 when clearly hampered by a serious groin injury. He underwent surgery, missing out on the team’s 2013 success and would never start in another final. He did, though, manage to sign off on the right note, kicking the title-sealing point as a sub in 2015 before announcing his retirement.
