PAUL GALVIN (Kerry, 2009)

-

He was arguably playing better in 2010 than he was in his player-of-the-year season, recovering from an ankle ligament injury to come off the bench and save Kerry in a drawn Munster semi-final against Cork. In the replay, he came up with another top display from the bench but TV cameras picked up on an incident where he ‘fishhooked’ Eoin Cadogan, and he incurred an eight-week retrospective ban. It left him watching on helplessly as Down shocked the Kingdom in the 2010 quarterfinal. He would never be champion again.
