Finishing with a flourish

-

A classic finishing hole. Lengthened by 40 yards in 2002, with the fans close to the action, it is easy to feel claustrophobic and mis-hit a drive into the trees either to the left or right. There’s also two nasty fairway bunkers to avoid. Hit a nice fade to finish alongside the bunkers, though, and a birdie opportunity comes into play. The flag will be situated just over the greenside bunker on the left and, with a slope some 15 feet behind the pin, there’s the obvious chance with a precise iron shot to use the slope and bring the ball back to the hole.
