Help real victims

-

The recent news regarding the horrific slaughter of the Coptic Christian community in Egypt on Palm Sunday hasn’t received the urgent attention it merits.

These brave people had to endure the beheading of 21 of their community in Libya two years ago by Isis, because they would not renounce Christ.

Isis has very close ties to the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.

It defies belief that the Irish Government and diplomatic service is supporting an individual who was arrested during a protest in support of this murderous group. The only grouping Ireland should be supporting and showing solidarity with is the beleaguered Christian community in Egypt, not their evil tormentors.

I trust this delusional policy of the Irish Government will be stopped with immediate effect.

Hopefully, all Irish Christians will show solidarity with their Egyptian brothers and sisters in Christ. Eric Conway, Navan, Co Meath.
