Next thursday, rtÉ viewers’ weekly fix of desirable properties will come to an end when the third home of the year is chosen. having selected the seven finalists, the judges will now select the overall winner.

Marking the occasion, the homeowners will come together for the final at Palmerstow­n house in Co. Kildare, where the judges will deliberate and ultimately crown the winner of home of the year.

Judging each finalist for the Irish Mail on sunday, amanda Kavanagh, design expert and editor of Image Interiors magazine, has tipped a converted dublin Georgian apartment to clinch the title (see right). In terms of most desirable location, Co. Wicklow is the undisputed winner – home to no fewer than three of the finalists in this year’s competitio­n. here is a full list and descriptio­n of seven of the nation’s most attractive homes.
