Bad call to play decider in Limerick
THE National League is the second biggest competition on offer for players. To send Tipperary and Galway to the Gaelic Grounds rather than play this final at Croke Park is just the wrong call. For many neutrals, no more than myself, Croke Park is so much more attractive as a venue. It’s much easier to access and carries an appeal that the Limerick venue simply lacks.
From the players’ point of view as well, it’s the place where everyone wants to play. It would have been a great opportunity to showcase some of the best players in the GAA’s main venue. The likes of Pádraic Maher (left), John McGrath, Joe Canning, these are exceptional players who want to display their talents in Croke Park. They should have been allowed the honour.
