Davy’s lack of respect

-

THE total disrespect Davy Fitzgerald showed the game that he professes to love, has dominated GAA conversation this last week. His one man assault on the field last Sunday, when he walked across the white line to rebuke the referee taking charge of Wexford-Tipperary Allianz League semi-final, but ended up engaging with two Tipperary players, was laughable, but also dangerous.

A manager taking the law into his own hands in the middle of the field can only lead to anarchy.

Fitzgerald smirked an apology at the end of it all. Whether he is still smiling after receiving an eightweek ban from the authorities in the middle of the week is unknown, but if justice was really handed out by Croke Park the Wexford manager might have been banned from every ground for the rest of this season.

The man needs to be taught a lesson once and for all. He needs to grow up, or else leave the game alone.
