€1 stamp not on

With the placing of envelopes into letter boxes becoming a much less popular custom over the last few years, the decision of An Post to increase the price of stamps from 72c to €1 is quite drastic and amazing.

Last year, there was a small 2c increase, which was easily accepted but now there is a rise of close on 40%. Such is an insult to consumers who use the service on a regular basis and the increase will surely be a deterrent to people who purchase a good number of stamps per week.
