Murder inquiry into mum’s death
A MURDER investigation has been launched into the death of a 31-year-old woman in Waterford.
Samantha Walsh, from Lisduggan in Waterford city, was found dead on Friday afternoon in an apartment on Thomas Street in the city. Her friends had raised the alarm when they were unable to get in contact with her.
Ms Walsh, who had a number of young children, had been living in the rented apartment.
A postmortem examination was carried out on the deceased’s body at University Hospital Waterford by Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis. The results of the exam have not been released for operational reasons.
Gardaí said they are following a number of lines of inquiry in connection with the death.
