CYCLING:

American cyclist Chad Young has died after a crash last Sunday, his team have announced.

The 21-year-old Axeon Hagens Berman team rider was flown to hospital after suffering head injuries in a fall on the final stage of the Tour of the Gila in Arizona.

‘I am very sorry to let everyone know that Chad Young did not survive his crash last Sunday,’ team chief Axel Merckx said. ‘May he rest in peace.’
