Baby boy for UFC f ighter McGregor
HE is only two days old. But Conor McGregor’s first born son is proving to be a heavyweight social media star – just like Dad.
UFC champion fighter McGregor and his fiancée Dee Devlin welcomed 8lb 14oz Conor Jack McGregor into the world on Friday night.
And by last night a verified Instagram account opened in the name of Conor McGregor Jr had racked up almost 10,000 followers. Bearing the all-important blue tick of authenticity, the account noted that it is ‘run by my parents Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin’. McGregor took fans by surprise with the choice of name for his young son: previously he had dismissed the notion of giving his first-born his name.
McGregor (12.6million Instagram followers and 4million Twitter followers) and his fiancée Dee (647,000 Instagram fans and some 48,000 followers on Twitter) are prolific social media users, with the Dublin natives allowing generous glimpses into their jet set lives.
Dee’s due date was last Sunday but the little one made his parents wait an extra five days before his arrival at Dublin’s Coombe hospital.
McGregor’s father Tony McGregor described the event as ‘great news for the McGregors and the Devlins… the whole family are absolutely delighted.’
He went on, ‘There’s no better feeling in the world than being a grandparent. The parents are absolutely over the moon and everyone is healthy.’
