What exactly is on a solar farm?
SOLAR farms usually comprise:
Solar array: 2.5m high flat panels laid out in lines across a field that can produce a glare if you are on a height;
Inverters: take the energy from the panels and converts it to an alternating current;
Transformers: convert the energy to a useable voltage;
Substation: connection point to the ESB/EirGrid;
Grid connection: pylon or underground cable that connects to the national grid.
