Pierce was only second choice

FORMER Bond star Pierce Brosnan continues to embrace the more mature roles now that, at age 63, his action hero days are behind him. He’s filming a thriller in Los Angeles.

In Spinning Man, Brosnan, left, plays a professor who’s indulged in affairs with a number of young, attractive students over the years. So when a woman is found dead, suspicion turns to him.

With a cast that includes Guy Pearce and Minnie Driver, it could do well. But less than six months ago, the film was ready to go into production with a different line-up of actors, including Game Of Thrones’s Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the lead role.
