Dettori hoping for no Moore success

FRANKIE DETTORI is one of the main obstacles to Ryan Moore landing a third consecutive Qipco 1,000 Guineas this afternoon.

Moore was successful in 2015 with Legatissimo and last year with Minding, and he chases success today on Aiden O’Brien’s Rhododendron, the decisive winner of the Group One Fillies’ Mile over the same course and distance in October. But Dettori has been encouraged by the win of Daban in the Nell Gwyn Stakes last month for trainer John Gosden over the same course but a furlong shorter.

‘Only time will tell if she handles the extra furlong but she wasn’t stopping and finished really well. With more experience we can expect a little bit more from her,’ he said.
