Tell Me on a Sunday, the onewoman song cycle/musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black, will play at The Everyman in Cork on May 11 and 12, performed by Irene Warren, who has sung in a number of top West End musicals. She’ll be accompanie­d by an onstage band of keyboard, sax/flute, cello, bass and drums. The mini-musical, as it has been called, follows the romantic problems and progress of a young Englishwom­an in New York. The show started as an idea by Tim Rice, but Lloyd Webber decided to bring in Black as his new lyric writer.

The Bealtaine Festival, promoting activity among the older generation, hosts theatrical, singing, dancing and artistic events nationwide this month. This year’s theatrical offering is Creaking, which tours to seven venues from May 5 to 26. It features Geraldine Plunkett as 79-year-old Rita, who is tired of her humdrum existence and her adult children, and decides to spice up her life.
