CHELSEA will bank around £151m in prize money from Premier League central funds alone for winning the title and bottom-placed Sunderland will make around £98m, according to a Mail on Sunday forecast. The precise amounts will be announced a few days after the season ends. The prize cash is comprised of ‘merit money’ (worth around £1.9m per place in the table, from that sum for 20th to around £38m for top spot), facility fees (depending on the number of live TV games), and equal shares of domestic and overseas TV income. Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester City can all expect £140m-plus.
