Three bottles sold every minute

BEAUTY blogger Suzanne Jackson is to launch her own tanning brand in a colourful move that will pitch her against award-winning tan queen Marissa Carter.

The Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal that Ms Jackson registered a company name in March and will call her brand new fake tan range, Glowbelle.

It will be distributed across the country by Sundrelle – the same company that helped build Ms Carter’s Cocoa Brown empire.

Ms Jackson is the co-director of a company with millionaire Sundrelle owner Fran O’Gorman.

The 32-year-old has had huge success in the cosmetics market with her make-up palettes, eyelash range and nail varnishes, which are all sold under her So Sue Me brand name and distributed by Sundrelle.

She will face a formidable battle to topple Ms Carter who has made her Cocoa Brown fake tan range into a household name.

Cocoa Brown is the biggest selling fake tan range here and it is understood that a staggering three bottles are sold every minute in Ireland and the UK.

Ms Jackson, who is from Skerries, Co. Dublin, has a huge social media following that she will hope to capitalise on with the launch of her tanning products.

She will again work with Sundrelle, which will distribute the product, and which previously helped her yield huge profits for her cosmetics range.

The MoS previously revealed that the blogger’s firm SanFran Limited – owned in conjunction with businessman Fran O’Gorman – which they set up in October 2015 showed profits of €225,097 according to the latest accounts filed.

SanFran is the vehicle that Suzanne uses to sell her make-up palettes and eyelashes and other branded beauty products.

Another of her companies, SoSueMe, also boasts a beautiful balance sheet.

As the MoS previously revealed, the firm last year showed profits of €311,553, up considerably from €34,781 the previous year.

Sundrelle has also worked with Marissa Carter. While she is the driving force and the face of Cocoa Brown, Sundrelle registered the brand name with the patent office in 2012.

Ms Carter has now set her sights on the US market and is moving there at the end of the month to expand her Cocoa Brown operations.

Ireland is the biggest consumer of fake tan per capita in the world, which puts the scale of Ms Carter’s empire into perspective.

It is estimated that more than 40% of Irish women use self-tanning products on a regular basis. Which means a slice of this lucrative market is worth battling for.
