Alan Titchmarsh reveals his big secret: ‘I’m a sensitive soul’
AS AN expert gardener, TV presenter and bestselling author, Alan Titchmarsh has built up an army of loyal fans.
And the star reckons the secret of his success is down to being a big softie. Titchmarsh, who has two daughters with Alison, his wife of 42 years, says: ‘Men are more sensitive than we are given credit for. I am sensitive and I think that you are even more so if you have daughters. I write about men and romance, which isn’t often spoken about.’
The TV host – who won a ‘bad sex award’ for one of his novels, which are often saucy – joked: ‘The things that have happened to the heroes of my books haven’t necessarily happened to me!’
Titchmarsh, 68, admits that these days his health is on his mind more than romance. He does Pilates every day: ‘You have got to keep going and concentrate on the good.’
