Leo-Simon show gives FG poll boost

THE leadership battle between Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney appears to have resulted in a bounce for Fine Gael, as the latest poll shows the party is up five points to 29%.

The Fine Gael boost comes at Fianna Fáil’s expense – which is down seven points to 21%. Support for Sinn Féin is also dropping, with the party down three points to 15%, while the Independents are up four points to 14%.

The Sunday Business Post/ Red C survey was run over seven days up until last Thursday.
