The Amazons
The Amazons
Reading quartet The Amazons have gigged the length and breadth of these islands honing a sound and building a following for four years. Recalling guitar-heavy indie types such as (early) Stereophonics and Feeder, theirs is a sound that isn’t startlingly original. More worryingly, songs as lyrically cringe-inducing as Junk Food Forever and Ultraviolet, among others, signify a mid-table band who will excite festival crowds for a few years, due to their undeniable energy levels, but ultimately achieve little more than that.
