Enough already!
The Fine Gael leadership battle has turned into a gruelling slog.
In the navy blue corner is Simon Coveney, a man who rose without trace after he ‘inherited’ his Dáil seat from his merchant prince father at an early age when most people are just getting started on the jobs ladder. To say that Simon has a charisma deficit is an understatement of Olympian proportions.
In the turquoise blue corner we have Leo Varadkar, whose modulated Castleknock tones conceal a ferocious Thatcherism.
Enough already! Elect one of the gruesome twosome and let him get on with the business in hand: pandering to the powerful and caving in to the Healy-Raes! Catherine Flynn, Co. Tipperary.
