Camino by Sea tragedy as poet dies

KERRY poet Domhnall Mac a tSíthigh has died tragically after the currach he was travelling in with singer Liam Ó Maonlaí capsized off the Spanish coast.

The pair were undertaking the Camino by Sea – a 2,500km journey from Ireland to Spain with two other men, when the boat got into trouble.

All four made it to the shore but it’s believed the Ballyferriter poet – who was also known as Danny Sheehy – subsequently suffered a fatal heart attack.
