All hail Amal and George for finally bucking the trend

CONGRATULATIONS to George and Amal Clooney on the arrival of their twins, a little boy and girl. And a standing ovation for giving them such nice normal names – Ella and Alexander – rather than look-at-me hipster monikers like River, Atlas or Apple.

It will be interesting to see if they flog the baby pictures off to the highest bidder with all proceeds going to George’s humanitarian charities or if they follow the royal route, releasing milestone photographs at carefully selected intervals. Given the dignified baby names and George’s reputed ambitions for high political office, it might well be the latter.
