Now try a double stretch stroke. Place both hands over the top of the shoulders and close to the spine, fingers pointing down the back. Using a firm pressure, slide the right hand down over the long muscles while keeping the left hand in its original position.

When the right hand reaches the small of the back, curve it around the hip and back to the base of the spine before drawing it up and back along the long muscle. At the same time, slide your left hand down to repeat the motion on the right of the spine.

Continue moving hands back and forth over the long muscles for up to five sequences. Increase speed and pressure to create heat-producing friction. Complete the stroke with both hands resting by the shoulders.
