CYCLING: Britain’s Team Sky rider Peter Kennaugh won stage seven of the Criterium Du Dauphiné that finished on Alpe d’Huez, but team-mate Chris Froome lost ground.

Kennaugh won from a breakaway with race leader Richie Porte finishing sixth, more than 20 seconds ahead of Froome, who is now one minute, two seconds down with today’s final stage to come.

Dan Martin slipped to eighth overall as Romain Bardet of France sneaked ahead of him after coming fifth on the stage.
