THERE are times when we could do with a massage but there’s no one around to oblige.

Rather than giving up, try learning a few self-massage routines. These can be performed on the same wide range of body areas, from head to toe.

Again, all you need is a place to sit or lie comfortabl­y.

Try this simple insomnia-busting routine when you are lying in bed and find yourself unable to doze off.

To prepare, breathe deeply in and out from your belly, perhaps letting out a sigh or a yawn on the out breath. Then let your jaw drop so that your mouth is partly open and your tongue rests softly in it. Keep your eyes gently closed, making sure that your eye sockets remain relaxed and soft.
