Reader on Libya’s real gem

Following my recent piece here about the Middle East and my desire to see Libya, reader Robert Fennell of west Cork has been in touch. Obviously, with Libya currently a no-go area, it’s a tip for the future but, according to Robert, instead of the famous Leptis Magna we should flock to Sabratha, west of Tripoli, where the mosaics, he says, are much better. And don’t miss Jerash in Jordan, he adds. He’s spot on – I’ve been to Jerash, above, and it’s spectacular!
