BOD’s neighbours had plan bid rejected
NEIGHBOURS of Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman who are objecting to their renovation plans were themselves refused planning permission for a smaller extension in 2006.
The celebrity couple plan to revamp their €1.8m Victorian mansion in Rathmines, Dublin. But Donald Fitzmaurice and his wife Isabel have objected to their plans. The O’Driscolls’ planning bid claims to have taken notice of the Fitzmaurices’ views. But, on their behalf, the director of Coda Architects Brian O’Donnell said: ‘Whilst some consultation did take place, the applicants in the end, declined to amend their scheme to accommodate the concerns of my clients.’
The Fitzmaurices believe the O’Driscolls’ planned extension will overshadow their garden. In 2006, the Fitzmaurices sought permission to build a single-storey extension and to extend the second floor but they were turned down.
