Cosby to face trial again in sex case

-

BILL COSBY’S trial on sexual-assault charges has ended in a mistrial after jurors failed to reach a unanimous decision.

Jurors had deliberated for more than 52 hours over six days before finally telling a judge they couldn’t agree on whether the 79-yearold comedian and star of The Cosby Show had drugged and molested a woman at his home in 2004.

Prosecutors have said they will retry Cosby, who remains charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault. He is now free on $1m bail. His wife of 53 years, Camille, slammed prosecutors for bringing the case.

She also attacked the judge, the accuser’s lawyers and the media.

Cosby himself, pictured, didn’t comment. He remained silent as the judge declared a mistrial.

This was the only criminal case to arise from allegations from more than 60 women that cast Cosby as a serial predator who gave drugs to women before violating them.

He did not take the stand in his own defence, leaving it to his attorney to argue that Cosby and his accuser, Andrea Constand, were lovers who shared a consensual sexual encounter.
