was less than happy this week when his Tyrone team’s lack of goals got highlighte­d.

They have drawn blanks in eight of their last 10 competitiv­e games, but the Tyrone boss (left) pointed out that Dublin’s failure to find the back of the net against Carlow passed unnoticed. That might just be because with the All-Ireland champions that was the exception not the rule.

In Jim Gavin’s 26 Championsh­ip games, they have drawn just five blanks, netting 48 goals. Those are numbers that can only make Tyrone eyes water.
