THE
pressure is very much on Kieran McGeeney in tonight’s qualifier tie with Fermanagh but this is a time for cool Armagh heads. I was briefly exposed to his coaching when he was part of Seán Boylan’s International Rules management team and I was very impressed with how he interacted with players on a one-to-one basis. The talk is that he needs to lead Armagh to a run deep into the qualifiers, but people don’t get how small a county Armagh is and what they need now is to show nerve and stick with a man who proved his quality as a manager with Kildare. If they keep the faith, he will deliver but let’s not expect miracles.
