Duffy urges Wolfe Tones brothers to heal the rift

-

THE Wolfe Tones brothers Derek and Brian Warfield have revealed that they have not met each other since their acrimonious split 16 years ago.

Brian said: ‘I don’t know if I will meet Derek again. I probably will. That’s what happens, family is family. You pick your friends, you don’t pick your family.’

And Derek said: ‘I don’t know to this day if we will settle our artistic differences. I am always open to be contacted. I don’t hold grudges.’

Derek caused a split in the band after 40 years when he announced that he was leaving in 2001 to go solo.

The two brothers feature on this Thursday’s Liveline Callback with Joe Duffy.

The last time the brothers spoke was on Liveline in 2009.

Joe Duffy said this week: ‘Someone must say to them, “Lads, we’re not getting any younger, is there no chance the two of you will meet again?”’
