Irish singer has the Pecs Factor

- By Eoin Murphy

A FORMER Voice of Ireland star, who is now a body builder, is hoping to become the next Irish X Factor sensation.

Claire O’Loughlin had her first taste of the stage on the live shows of The Voice of Ireland in 2012, and is now hoping to take the ‘overs’ category in X Factor by storm.

The MoS can reveal that the mum of two and close friend of Glenda Gilson has made it through to boot camp on the hit show after wowing judges at the Manchester auditions.

A well-placed source has revealed how the wedding singer impressed all four of the judges.

And, as a result, she received four ‘yeses’ and has gone straight through to the Bootcamp stages of the contest.

Those will be filmed in the coming weeks at Thorpe Park amusement park in England.

‘The audition was in a small room with just the four judges. Claire’s song was changed as well and that just added to the nerves, but she nailed it,’ said the source.

‘Of course she is over the moon to have done so well, but she is a mum of two and that keeps her focused and grounded ahead of the major task ahead.

‘The producers have made it clear that they are not looking for novelty acts this year and only acts with real talent will progress.’

Claire represented Ireland in the World Fitness Federation Universe Championships in Orlando, Florida last year – and finished in third place.

She is a member of Body Byrne, which also trains Irish celebrities Rosanna Davison and Kathryn Thomas.
